Nest & Cradle

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What families ask most often about visits, booking, and how Nest & Cradle works alongside your healthcare professionals.

Which visit should I choose?

Choose a Prenatal Visit if you are expecting and want to prepare for the newborn period. Choose a Foundations Visit if your baby is here and you would like personalized support with your current questions. Follow-Up Visits are designed for returning families who want to revisit a concern, see how their plan is working, or adjust their next steps.

When can I book a visit?

Prenatal Visits may be booked at any stage of pregnancy to help you prepare for your baby’s arrival. Once your baby is here, Nest & Cradle supports families through the baby’s first three months.

Who conducts the visits?

Nest & Cradle was founded by a board-certified neonatologist. Visits are conducted by carefully selected registered nurses and certified physician assistants with newborn-care experience. Each provider also completes Nest & Cradle’s original newborn education training program, developed with input from neonatologists, lactation consultants, and pediatric occupational therapists.

Can a support person attend?

Yes. A family member, friend, or other support person is welcome to join your virtual visit so you can learn, ask questions, and plan together.

Is Nest & Cradle medical care?

Nest & Cradle provides personalized newborn education and coaching designed to complement the care you receive from your healthcare professionals. We help families better understand what to expect, feel more prepared, and identify clear next steps. Visits do not include medical diagnosis or treatment.

Can you help with breastfeeding and feeding questions?

Yes. Feeding is one of the most common topics families bring to their visits. We can discuss breastfeeding, pumping, bottle-feeding, typical newborn feeding patterns, and ways to recognize when additional support may be helpful. Our providers are experienced in newborn feeding education, and Nest & Cradle’s specialized training was developed with input from lactation consultants. When a more specialized lactation assessment is needed, we will recommend connecting with a lactation consultant.

What happens after I book?

You will receive a booking confirmation through Practice Better and complete a brief pre-visit questionnaire about your priorities. Your coach will use your responses to tailor the visit to your family. During the private virtual session, you will have dedicated time to ask questions, receive clear explanations, and finish with practical next steps and a personalized plan when helpful.

Are visits covered by insurance?

Visits are self-pay and are not billed to insurance. Pricing is listed upfront, and secure payment is completed through Practice Better when you book.

What if I’m concerned about my baby’s health?

Nest & Cradle can support questions about everyday newborn care during a scheduled visit. If your baby seems unwell or may need medical evaluation, contact your pediatrician or another appropriate healthcare professional rather than waiting for a Nest & Cradle visit or response. If you believe your baby may be experiencing an emergency, call 911 or seek emergency care.
